Plastimayd's Space Arena® is a tough, spacious and affordable swimming pool enclosure that completely covers the swimming pool and as much of the deck area as desired giving you additional recreational or lounging area. The Space Arena® is designed for residential use and is custom made in sizes up to 30 x 60 feet with your choice of color tops! The dome is made of specially formulated, durable ultra-violet resistant material and each unit is custom made to fit the architectural and functional needs of most backyards. The dome is air supported and comes with a continuously operating all weather blower which functions on normal 110 volt household current. The actual cost of operation is less than a 100 watt light bulb! Care and MaintenanceWIND CONDITIONSUnder normal and moderate wind conditions (10-20 mph), the dome and blower can be left in normal operating conditions. If gusty and stronger wind conditions are forecast (20+ mph), it is recommended to turn off the blower and allow the SPACE ARENA to deflate prior to the arrival of the high winds. If attempting to deflate the dome after winds have begun, be very careful and have two to three people present to guard against damaging dome as it deflates. Do not allow the zipper to rest in the water after dome is deflated as water will seep through and accumulate on top of the SPACA ARENA. Should a large amount of water gather on top of the dome, it can be pumped off. Insurance protection should be discussed with your agent to verify coverage. PATCHINGLong lasting patching can be made using PLASTIMAYD Pool Patch Kits. Be sure to follow directions very closely. ZIPPERThe zipper must be lubricated WEEKLY to insure that the zipper will perform as intended. An aerosol spray such as WD-40, or any other silicon product, is satisfactory. Care should be taken not to over-spray on fabric portion of zipper. Should the zipper become damaged, a replacement can be purchased from your swimming pool dealer or directly from PLASTIMAYD CORPORATION. The replacement zipper snaps easily into the existing zipper panel. CLEANINGThe outside of the SPACE ARENA should be hosed down ONCE A WEEK to prevent dirt build-up. When a more thorough cleaning is desired, we suggest using a car washing detergent or similar solution and a large cloth or throw rug tied with a rope at each corner with two people working the soapy material from end to end. When finished , rinse thoroughly. Be careful to avoid scratching clear portions of the SPACE ARENA. The inside of the dome and deck should be sprayed once a week with a strong chlorine/ water solution. Allow this to remain on the dome long enough for the chlorine to attach any algae growth which may be staring (approximately 30 minutes), then simply hose off. REMOVAL AND STORAGETo eliminate the possibility of algae growth in moisture pockets when the dome is folded and stored, the SPACE ARENA should be dried thoroughly prior to storing. This can be done by spreading the SPACE ARENA across a grassy area and allowing it to dry on tone side and then on the other. It is also possible to dry the dome inside and out by attaching the blower to circulate air beneath the dome until it is dry. When refolding the dome for storage, take the time to fold it AS IT WAS ORIGINALLY FOLDED at the factory. This will make your next set-up much easier. 1. Spread the dome as flat as possible on the ground. 2. Accordion- fold the dome lengthwise in four foot pleats. This will result in the dome laying in a four foot strip lengthwise. Note: Diatomaceous earth or talcum powder should be applied to both sides of the dome to help prevent moisture build-up during storage and will help to keep the vinyl pliable. 3. Roll up the dome tightly 4. Store in an area where the temperature will not be below freezing over above 1100F. Store where there is good air circulation. DO NOT store your SPACE ARENA in sunlight. SPECIAL NOTE FOR DEEP FREEZE AREASThe residential SPACE ARENA is ONLY intended to extend the swimming season and should NOT be used during cold winter months. If weather conditions are consistently below 0° F, or have heavy snow falls or ice, we recommend that the SPACE ARENA be removed and stored. The SPACE ARENA may only be used during winter months in MILDER CLIMATES where temperatures & conditions are warmer than those mentioned above. CARE OF BLOWERBlower filters should be routinely checked and changed as required or at least once a year. Replacement filters for track blowers (Nutone #27861.000) can be purchased from your local Nutone or from PLASTIMAYD CORPORATION. Green filters can also be purchased from PLASTIMAYD CORPORATION. TRACK
ANCHOR (pioneered by Plastimayd) - The all weather low
profile improved polycarbonate track is anchored securely
to deck with stainless steel hardware. A vinyl bead welded
to the dome snaps solidly into track. This unique system offers
sleek appearance, easy maintenance, no-shift hold down, and
ease of subsequent set up and removal. 
CABLE
ANCHOR - Aircraft strength cable electronically welded
inside the hem and removable eyebolts in the deck hold the
dome in position. This system offers good hold down strength,
ease of maintenance, and little effect to deck when dome is
not in use. 
WATER
TUBE ANCHOR - This popular system employs a heavy gauge
sleeve around the perimeter of the dome into which 8' water
tubes are placed and filled. The dome provides fast, easy
installation and flexibility in terraced or unusual site applications.

CABLE ANCHOR HOLD DOWNInstallation and Operation InstructionsYOUR PLASTIMAYD SPACE ARENA is made from the best materials available and specifically designed for residential use ONLY. The air-inflated portion is translucent vinyl film is specially formulated to resist weathering and sunlight deterioration, retain flexibility, and perform well with reasonable care. The replaceable zipper entry and cable hem is made of rip resistant vinyl-coated nylon. The replaceable zipper entry panel is designed to allow placement of the slider either at the top or at the bottom when closed (for child safety). PARTS AND EQUIPMENTTo complete concrete deck installation of your SPACE ARENA you will need the following:
PRELIMINARY STEPSA SPACE ARENA layout diagram is included with each dome, indicating exact measurements to be used. Care should be taken to measure accurately and follow directions precisely. Begin by orienting the layout diagram to the pool site. Then find the center line points where the SPACE ARENA" will be placed, both width and length. From each center liner point, measure out half of the width or length, (as applicable) of the SPACE ARENA" to determine points W, X, Y and Z as indicated in figure 1. Chalk lines will be drawn from W to X, X to Z, Z to Y and Y to W to make the perimeter of the SPACE ARENA" where anchors will be placed. BEFORE MARKING CHALK LINESCheck to make sure corners are square and measurements are accurate. Chalk straight lines as indicated. Then round the corners on a radius of 3'-8" and mark as indicated in figure 2. INSTALLING ANCHORSAnchors should be placed every two and one-half to three feet around perimeter, except around corners where they should be placed every two feet or less, as shown in figure 2. To install the non-corrosive stainless steel anchors: 1. Drill 1/2" diameter hole 1-5/8" deep (minimum).. 2. Place drop-in anchor in hole. If anchor is not flush with deck, place a hard board on top of anchor and drive until flush. DO NOT STRIKE ANCHOR DIRECTLY WITH HAMMER. 3. Using setting tool, set the drop-in anchor with several sharp hammer blows. 4. Screw eye bolt in until flush with outside casing INSTALLING SPACE ARENA1. Position the SPACE ARENA box at the B/C corner as shown on the layout diagram provided (Figure 1). Face the dome as indicated on the box, arrow pointing toward pool. Remove dome from box being careful to keep it facing in the same direction as it came out of the box. DO NOT DRAG DOME ACROSS ANY SURFACE, it must always be lifted or it may be permanently damaged! 2. Unroll the dome down the length of the pool, from deep end to shallow end. 3. Locate the opposite end corners. Two people should then grasp these corners and pull them to the opposite side of the pool so the entire pool is covered by the dome. Avoid letting water get on top of the dome or resting the zipper in the water. 4. When dome completely covers pool, locate cable sleeve (at bottom of clear wall) and position it on the chalk lines marked on the deck. Make sure the center line of each side of the SPACE ARENA" lines up with center line marked on the deck. 5. Starting at the corners, cut a half-circle opening about 1-1/2" in diameter at each anchor point in the cable sleeve, which will expose the cable. DO NOT MAKE "V" SHAPED CUTS, MATERIAL WILL TEAR! Once you have determined that the dome is properly centered, proceed to cut half circles every 2 feet around entire perimeter. 6. Hook cable eye bolts to the exposed cable at each cut out. Be sure that the air skirt is laying flat on the deck on the inside of the dome to provide a good air seal. 7. Take up any excessive slack in cable by drawing together at ends ( like a "drawstring") and tightening "U" bolt clamp to cables. To locate ends of cable and "U" bolt find the RED dot on the cable sleeve. SPACE ARENA OPERATIONTo use the variable speed blower, simply position the blower housing under the cable and air skirt in the location desired. Plug the blower into 110 volt connection and inflate the SPACE ARENA" Once inflated, adjust the pressure in the dome by adjusting the speed of the blower. It will be necessary to monitor the pressure in the SPACE ARENA" and to do so adjust its setting from time to time, especially in warm or cold weather. The unit should be firm and not easily swayed when outer pressure is applied. Note: Side walls of SPACE ARENA" should be straight up and down, NOT BOWED OUT. Too much air will cause the SPACE ARENA to grow and become distorted. CAUTION: DO NOT OVERINFLATE! Over-inflation puts severe pressure on the seams, especially around the entry and can cause fatigue of the material and could cause permanent damage. |

Remove dome from box being careful to keep it facing in the same direction as it came out of the box. Do not drag dome across any surface, it must always be lifted, or it may be permanently damaged. 2. Unfold the dome down the length of the pool. 3. Locate the opposite-end corners which will be lying on top at each of the folds. Two people should then grasp these two corners and pull them to the opposite side of the pool so that the entire pool is covered. Avoid letting water get on top of dome or resting the zipper in the water. 4. Place water tubes into perimeter sleeves and fill with water. After this is completed connect blower and inflate. To use the variable speed blower, simply position the blower housing under the water tube in the location desired. Plug the blower to 110 volt connection and inflate the SPACE ARENA. Once inflated, adjust the pressure in the dome using the control knob. It will be necessary to monitor the pressure in the SPACE ARENA and to make adjustments in the setting from time to time especially in warm or cold weather. The SPACE ARENA should be firm and not easily swayed when outer pressure is applied. Note: Side walls of SPACE ARENA should be straight up and down, not bowed out. Too much air will cause the SPACE ARENA to grow and become distorted.
